WORKSHOPS

Our workshops explore various aspects of the acting process and aim to provide additional insight to one’s own personal work. We explore various theatrical approaches to different works and center our attention into getting the most out of an individual & expose their full potential. We also serve as a networking platform for all our participants.
The workshops are establishing a setting for the mixture of psychological, theoretical and practical work, while further defining and re-defining the thespian’s process. The workshops develop over time into a more structured and intense script analysis and finally, complete the creative circle with a theatrical production.
PROGRAM

MAY
1ST WORKSHOP - 3 May 2015
Storytelling in theatre! The participants will get their own story, make a “story-skeleton” and try themselves in various storytelling techniques. The audience will get the chance to evaluate how they liked the story!
2nd WORKSHOP - 10 May 2015
“Craft-your-own story” exercise!
This is a special “speedy” storytelling technique and it involves teamwork. We will have fun and create our own theatrical place, time, characters and theatrical action. In the end we will discuss our story and draw conclusions.
3rd WORKSHOP - 17 May 2015
Three-way conversation exercise for concentration and storytelling, followed by »Juliet and Dad« scene writing exercise where participants will experience an alternative way of telling a story. »Story by image« exercise where participants consider an image and write down words that remind them of an emotional response to the image. As a group, they decide what »truth« is revealed behind this story, they take a viewpoint with regard to that »truth« and they write down a narrative statement, then read it out loud and discuss!
4th WORKSHOP - 24 May 2015
Creating an episode! Each group divides their narrative into 3 episodes. Each episode should be given a title that comments on the action that will follow the next episode, then we discuss the structure of the relationship between the characters. Participants narrate and physically demonstrate the actions of the characters they are representing. After acting it out, we define the climax of the story and we act it out in slow motion. Then we discuss the relation between use of images, space, 3d person narration, distancing from emotion (alienation effect), use of stage etc.
5th WORKSHOP - 31 May 2015
